It is the only university in Shanxi Province nominated by Chinese Ministry of Education as one of the top 100 universities in the 21st century in China, i.e. “Project 211”. Taiyuan is the capital of Shanxi Province nicknamed as the dragon city based on its long history—over 2,500.
